Idalou over Cooper 17-0
IDALOU — Idalou’s offense clicked on all cylinders against the Cooper Pirates. Cooper allowed the Wildcats to run for 220 yards on 40 carries and Idalou beat Cooper 17-0.
Idalou’s Jacob Johnson opened the scoring with a 15 yard touchdown run late in the first quarter, and that was all the Wildcats, (3-0) would need.
Cooper, (0-4) allowed a total of 331 yards while only compiling 219 on offense.
While the defense continued to shut down the Pirate offense, Idalou quarterback Alec Estes added another touchdown late in the third quarter to balloon the Wildcats to a 17-0 lead that never faletered.
The Wildcats’ seven fumbles were misleading, happening mostly on faulty exchanges between center and quarterback.
Kale Johnson and Nick Gary carried the rushing attack with 90 and 53 yards rushing respectively.
While Idalou’s rushing attack was run-by-comittee, Cooper’s offense was carried primarily by DJ Ware who carried the ball 20 times and rushed for 103 yards.
