The Fillies’ Shayna Conner, Brittney Scaff and Marissa Westbrook each recorded at least eight kills in Tuesday’s straight-set win. Tulia is in the postseason for the fourth year in a row but has yet to win a playoff match during that span.

• About the match: Dimmitt, which outlasted River Road in five sets for the first playoff victory in program history, faces a perennial power. Denver City, ranked 11th in Class 2A in the latest Texas Girls Coaches Association poll, is trying to reach the regional quarterfinals for the eighth year in a row. The Fillies are led by Breeann David and Shahala Hawkins, who double as setters and middle blockers, while the Bobbies’ go-to player is Valeria Quiroz, a 6-foot-2 senior.

CLASS 1A Olton vs. Windthorst

• When: 4 p.m. today

• Where: Snyder HS

• How they got here: Olton finished third in District 5-1A, beat Knox City in bi-district; Windthorst had a first-round bye after winning District 7-1A.

• About the match: Olton, in its third year as a program, had never participated in a playoff match before Tuesday. Windthorst, meanwhile, is the two-time defending state champion, owns 10 state titles overall and has reached the state tournament 12 years in a row. So the Fillies, who got solid offensive performances from Jamie Chitty, Brennan Ivy and Kristen White in the four-set win over Knox City, will need to be even better today.
