LAMPASAS – Azzeneth Marrufo scored 15 points, and Lubbock High picked up its first win of the season Thursday, opening the Crossroads of Texas Tournament with a 44-37 overtime win over Austin Brentwood Christian.
Hollie Gurrola added 14 points for the Lady Westerners (1-3).

ALLEN – Devin Griffin scored a game-high 17 points as Lubbock Coronado opened the Allen Invitational with a 61-36 win over Sherman.
With the win, the Lady Mustangs (3-1) were moved on to take on the West Mesquite later Thursday night, but struggled from the field as West Mesquite topped Coronado 58-45.
Griffin was again high point for Coronado in the loss to West Mesquite with 12 points while Jennifer Altman and Hailee Roye added 10 points each.
