SAN MARCOS – Frenship reached the consolation championship at the Rattler Spring Break Classic but lost a 3-2 heartbreaker against La Vernia.

Frenship freshman Kyle Rutherford allowed only one run and five hits in a complete game on Friday, and the Tigers beat El Paso Chapin 4-1 in a First Bank Classic pool-play game at Westerner Field.
